The Jane Austen Book Club is the second Thursday of every month.
We will be reading through all of Jane Austen’s works.
For May we will be watching Northanger Abbey.
Summary: Catherine Morland, the daughter of a rural clergyman, is taken to Bath for the season by family friends and once there, she meets Henry Tilney. As a result of exaggerated reports of her family’s wealth, Catherine is invited to Northanger Abbey, the medieval seat of the Tilneys. Henry’s father then receives a second report – as misleading as the first – representing Catherine’s parents as extremely humble.
