Tolkien Book Club. \nWe will be reading through all of Jane Austen’s works. \nFor July we will be starting Pride and Prejudice. \nSummary: Set in England in the early 19th century\, Pride and Prejudice tells the story of Mr and Mrs Bennet’s five unmarried daughters after the rich and eligible Mr Bingley and his status-conscious friend\, Mr Darcy\, have moved into their neighbourhood. While Bingley takes an immediate liking to the eldest Bennet daughter\, Jane\, Darcy has difficulty adapting to local society and repeatedly clashes with the second-eldest Bennet daughter\, Elizabeth.

When she flees\, she leaves behind the corpses of her tormentors. \nA fugitive navigating London’s underbelly\, Jane rights wrongs on behalf of the have-nots whilst avoiding the noose. Until an advertisement catches her eye. Her aunt has died and the new master at Highgate House\, Mr Thornfield\, seeks a governess. Anxious to know if she is Highgate’s true heir\, Jane takes the position and is soon caught up in the household’s strange spell.
