SUMMARY:Author Talk: Darrell Pederson
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday\, October 27th\, for an evening with Minnesota author Darrell J. Pedersen\, featuring an author talk followed by a special Writer’s Workshop. \n\n\n\n4:30 p.m. – Book Sales \n\n\n\n5:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Author Talk \n\n\n\nDarrell will share stories and reflections from his newest book\, \n\n\nWho Will Carry the Fire? More Reflections from a North Woods Lake. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Darrell Pedersen \n\n\n\n\nDarrell J. Pedersen grew up on a small North Woods lake between Duluth and Virginia\, Minnesota\, and has spent much of his life surrounded by the lakes and woods of northern Minnesota. For the past 32 years\, he and his family have called White Sand Lake in Baxter home. As Darrell puts it\, his “feet are planted deeply into the swamps\, lakes\, and woods of Northern Minnesota.” \n\n\nHis first book\, Campfire in the Basement: Reflections from a North Woods Lake\, won the 2024 Northeastern Minnesota Book Award for Best Memoir. His newest book\, Who Will Carry the Fire? More Reflections from a North Woods Lake\, continues his reflections on life in the Northland. Through these everyday stories\, Darrell hopes to remind readers of their own experiences and inspire them to pass their memories on to future generations. His presentations bring laughter\, a tear or two\, and perhaps a few grimaces\, all reflecting his favorite sentiment: “bad decisions make good stories.”
